Westwood Collective | Hilliard, Ohio
Inspired by the town that shaped him, founder and visionary, Andy Warnock strives to build a sense of community – mixing the old with the new. Westwood Collective was established in honor of the street where Warnock was raised. Today, Westwood is the heart of a community-centric business providing exceptional service to neighbors and filling voids in the communities in which they live and work. They hold themselves to their four core values: the pursuit of excellence, generosity, simplicity, and, of course, fun.

As their business grew, Westwood Collective needed a brand that could adapt with them. Their former logomark and signature combination felt disconnected. The sharp and strong “W,” juxtaposed with the rounded and wide lettering of the words “Westwood Collective,” fought for what your eye would view first. With that in mind, Revival designers gave the branding an essential refresh while adding slight variations to set each division of their brand apart.
Knowing that brand awareness is imperative when trying to establish and retain brand recognition, we deemed it necessary to work with the existing logomarks for each brand and develop a new signature that would enhance the design and feel cohesive. It is as sharp and strong as the business they have built and the ones they will continue developing.
Westwood Collective came to our team with only one logo format – an option that didn’t always fit every space. Brand recognition is the first advantage of logo variation. The more a logo is used in different settings, while retaining the brand’s core design elements, the quicker viewers will come to recognize it. To expand upon and represent their growth within the community, we developed several logo variations to add to their visual system. This maximizes their design options, building ease of creativity and flexibility when planning to use logos in different applications.
Our team of creatives developed coordinating logos for each of the Westwood brand branches — Westwood Collective, Westwood Fieldhouse, and Westwood Real Estate Co. Each is comprised of a signature, paired with their already recognizable “W” logomark. To accommodate the various uses for the logo of each brand, we developed a horizontal, vertical, and circle lock-up — allowing the brand to adapt and change as its missions and values develop as the years progress.
Coordinating Colors
Having their primary palette established already, we began by defining a set of fresh and modern colors to coordinate with their base. This palette allows the flexibility of each brand to have an individualized look and feel, while also giving the overarching brand a cohesive aesthetic.
Westwood Collective’s palette now includes a pop of green — representing the refresh they provide for communities. With a bright and bold blue, Westwood Fieldhouse conveys the confidence it instills in the youth that walks through its doors. Last, but certainly not least, the Westwood Real Estate Co. features a stunning metallic gold — adding just enough sparkle to highlight the extraordinary homes they sell
The stylish typeface, Noto Serif, has outstanding-looking characters that complement a number of styles. Its bold features add the perfect amount of attractive texture. This font gives the Westwood brand full facility for creating stunning text graphics with ease. Pairing nicely with Noto Serif, Open Sans’ open forms and friendly appearances allow it to be the perfect header font for the Westwood brand. The wide variety of weights this font family has gives the brand the versatility to appear cohesive, yet slightly different.
By updating and modernizing its brand, the Westwood Collective continues to show its commitment to its community. They are staying current and relevant in an ever-changing marketplace, and committed to adapting to growth with fresh ideas, and unique perspectives. Holding true to its values, Westwood keeps its community at the core of their business and remains strong in their foundations — excellence, generosity, simplicity, and fun.
I tagged the Revival team in to take our branding, design, and project architecture to a new level... and they have not disappointed. Creativity is at the core of everyone we’ve worked with at Revival. They take our grassroots ideas, listen to our vision, and turn out literal masterpieces. We look forward to seeing what the future holds running alongside them.
