After Fire + Storm Damages Building
On Friday, May 13, 2022, a fire erupted at the headquarters of Revival Design Collective in Coldwater, Ohio, causing damage to the studio amid company growth and mid-relocation.
The determined cause was a ruptured ballast in the old lighting of the lean-to, on the first floor, at the back of the building. Significant damage occurred to the back of the building, including the warehouse and the backspace used as temporary offices for staff. Smoke damage occurred throughout the main structure’s first and second floors and adjacent buildings. While this proved to be a setback for the timing of adding staff and moving into the newer, larger headquarters, it is a testament to the meaning of team + community.
The strength and resilience shown by our team at Revival have been extraordinary as they continue to work with unspeakable flexibility while keeping our clients and projects the number one priority.`` shares Cally Lange, Founder + CEO of Revival Design Collective. ``Speaking directly to Revival's community support, we are humbled. We thank the town of Coldwater, the Police Department, the local Fire Departments, and neighboring businesses, especially as they take extra care to watch out for us and our building.``
As Revival was moving forward with clean-up from the fire and the pre-planned building renovations, overnight on Monday, June 13, 2022, a severe storm with high winds swept through the area leaving significant roof damage to the building.
Despite setbacks, Revival has experienced exponential growth with eight staff additions this year, expanded to a storefront studio space in Bellefontaine, OH, and re-branded to Revival Design Collective to better represent the variety of design services offered by the studio.
